NV Diet Pill
The NV Diet Pill--so named because it's pronounced like "envy"--is a diet pill that also claims to be a
beauty pill. It's an over-the-counter supplement that touts a three-complex beauty formula, which helps with
weight loss while strengthening hair and nails, and also rejuvenating the skin. The weight-loss complex contains
green tea extract for energy, theobromine as a calorie burner, and hoodia, a recently popularized herbal appetite
suppressant. The beauty complex is made up of collagen, alpha-lipoic acid, silica, B vitamin, and coenzyme Q10.
Taurine, ginseng and rhodiola rosea make up the energy complex. NV is to be taken twice a day on an empty
stomach, once before breakfast and then again six hours later with an 8 ounce glass of water.
Manufacturer
It isn't clear which company actually manufactures NX Diet Pills. From our research, it appears that NxCare Inc.
was the manufacturer. However, this company has since changed its name to WellNX Life Sciences, and its
website doesn't mention NV Diet Pills. WellNX Life Sciences didn't reply to e-mails asking if it manufactured
the NV diet pills.
Medical Studies
Because it's an over-the-counter herbal supplement, the FDA hasn't approved NV or its weight-loss claims. Of
the active ingredients, studies on taurine have shown weight-loss and decreased blood sugar in animals. Green
tea's health benefits have also been extensively studied in the past, including its effectiveness with weight
loss, however this claim has not been proven. No major studies have been conducted on the effectiveness of
hoodia or theobromine in terms of weight-loss or dieting.
Cautionary Notes
People wanting to take the NV diet pill are advised to consult a physician if they have any history of diabetes,
anxiety disorders, cardiac conditions, osteoporosis or hypertension. One NV caplet contains the same amount of
caffeine as two cups of coffee and may also have adverse effects on people with chocolate or soy allergies.
